Pastor Sam and Mandi Baker.

Pastor Baker was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama to parents Jim and Roz Baker. After graduating from Woodlawn High School, Sam went on to Business School where he received an Associate Degree in Marketing and Management. After completing those years of college, he felt the call to ministry, where in his latter years; he would attend MFA and get ordained in the ministry. Before meeting his bride, Pastor Baker ran a ministry in Talladega, Alabama, where he did small things here and there to help the local community. Today, as Lead Pastor of Cane Creek Baptist, Pastor Baker has been able to enjoy a long time dream in watching a ministry grow that loves serving the Lord where he can make a difference and be a leader. “I ran from the Lord for a long time,” says Pastor Baker, “but you can only run so long and so far before you finally just collapse and just give in.”

 

Mandi was born and raised in Jasper, Alabama to parents Mike and Linda Uptain, also of Jasper. After graduating from Cordova High School, Mandi furthered her education at Bevil State University and received a degree in Child Development. Mandi received this ministry’s highest award in 2012, as she won “The Above and Beyond Award”.
